After a volunteer trip to an orphanage in Malawi, he decided to apply 8 years of multimedia design experience toward something special. While in Africa he came to a quick realization that there is no shortage of amazing individuals who dedicate their lives to caring for children. What many lack is exposure, funding and resources. After returning home to Hawaii, he called his friends Ryan and Joe and started laying the ground work for New Day Kids.
Karina Umehara, OperationsShe holds a B.A. in Justice Administration, a B.A. in Sociology, and is currently purusing an MBA at Hawaii Pacific University. She also works as Facilities Operations Lead for CH2M HILL, Honolulu. We've also noticed that she manages to make everyone she talks to laugh or smile everyday.
Ryan Westbrook, MarketingA degree in Marketing from Hawaii Pacific University gave him the opportunity to work for Chase in San Francisco. Currently in NYC and working in marketing at REAL HEALTH The Black Wellness Magazine, he is a founding member of NDK.
Shelia Jenkins, EventsA mother of two with a Bachelors in Human Resources and a Bachelors in Business Economics from UCLA, Shelia can handle the pressure. Her entertainment booking company Scipio's "A" List has a client list that reads as a "Who’s Who" of the entertainment industry. Currently in NYC her new company CACE is an event planning group for celebrity charity organizations.
Joseph Pa’ahana, Design & MediaA member of the artist collective The Dropshadows he has cut his teeth in the design world through innovative print materials for Next Door, Cinema Paradise, and many of Hawaii's top companies. A combination of innovative thinking, video, motion graphics and illustration make his work some of the most sought after in Hawaii.
Ka’a Kihe, TechnologyA developer of multiple Rich Internet Applications and a pressence that makes everyone feel at ease when working with him. Ka’a is a great example of what many intelligent, forward thinking locals in Hawaii have to offer. His passion for making sure things are done "the right way" never interferes with his optimistic outlook.
